How do Americans get their Antioxidants?

You find most antioxidants in foods and supplements. Researchers believe that foods high in Vitamins A, C, E and beta carotene are the most beneficial for protective benefits. Dark green leafy vegetables, other green and orange fruits and vegetables like peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe and carrots are great antioxidant sources. In addition, dates, red grapes and especially berries contain the highest concentration of antioxidants per serving size of all fruits. Some berries, like Maqui, acai and strawberries, are so full of antioxidants that they’re classified as superfoods. Researches further state that the freshest raw fruits and vegetables have the highest amount of antioxidants and provide the best absorption. These make great diet foods for weight loss. For those not eating a varied diet high in these types of fruits and vegetables, supplements offer additional protection. And if you have tea and coffee, especially green tea in your diet, that’s another source of antioxidants.
